The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of a major National Grid infrastructure project based in Oswestry. This high‑profile scheme is within an ECI (Early Contractor Involvement) environment, offering long‑term work certainty over the next 4‑5 years. The role provides the chance to take ownership of a significant energy project in a central location, with clear visibility and exposure to senior leadership. You’ll report directly to the Senior Operations Manager for the Northwest region, with a clear line of sight to the England & Wales Energy Director, creating excellent opportunities for career progression within a major programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the successful delivery of a major infrastructure project from pre‑construction through to completion.
  • Manage programme, budget, risk and stakeholder engagement across all project phases.
  • Drive performance across multidisciplinary teams, ensuring safety, quality and commercial objectives are met.
  • Work closely within an ECI framework, influencing design, planning and delivery strategies.
  • Provide regular reporting to senior leadership, ensuring transparency and alignment with business objectives.

  • Proven experience in a Senior Project Manager role within infrastructure or energy projects.
  • Strong background working with National Grid or similar utilities frameworks.
  • Experience across substations, underground cabling or overhead line (OHL) projects.
  • Degree‑qualified in a relevant discipline.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management and commercial awareness.
