Location: Motherwell Morgan Sindall Infrastructure | Energy Division. Morgan Sindall Infrastructure’s Energy division is expanding to meet increasing demand for network reinforcement and new transmission infrastructure. We are looking for an experienced Project Director (Overhead Lines) to lead major OHL projects and frameworks in Scotland. This role offers the opportunity to take strategic ownership of technically complex and logistically challenging projects that are essential to the UK’s energy future.

The Role

As Project Director, you will be responsible for the end‑to‑end leadership and successful delivery of large‑scale OHL schemes, ensuring safe, efficient and commercially robust outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of major OHL projects, including new build, refurbishment and reconductoring (typically 132kV – 400kV)
  • Provide strategic direction across access, foundations, tower strengthening and erection, stringing and commissioning
  • Full accountability for programme, cost, risk and margin performance
  • Develop strong client relationships with DNOs, TOs and key stakeholders
  • Manage large, geographically dispersed delivery teams and supply chains
  • Champion health, safety, environmental and quality excellence
  • Support business growth through framework delivery and bid involvement

  • Significant experience delivering complex OHL projects at scale
  • Strong technical knowledge across all phases of OHL delivery
  • Demonstrable senior leadership experience in energy or major infrastructure
  • Strong commercial acumen and contract management capability
  • Client‑focused, collaborative and confident operating at director level
