Talented people are the key to our success. We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Bid Manager to join our Rail Pre‑Construction team within Morgan Sindall Infrastructure (Rail). This role is responsible for the successful planning, coordination, and submission of high‑quality bids to both existing and prospective clients. You will play a key role in positioning the business for success by delivering compelling, compliant, and innovative tender submissions that maximise our competitive advantage. Working within a fast‑paced environment, you will ensure all tenders are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest possible standard.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of bids and tender submissions from inception to completion.
  • Produce high‑quality, compliant, and compelling proposals that clearly articulate value and differentiate Morgan Sindall.
  • Manage multiple bids simultaneously, ensuring deadlines, quality standards, and budgets are consistently met.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across disciplines including commercial, operational, and design teams.
  • Ensure strong governance and adherence to internal processes, client requirements, and procurement frameworks.
  • Contribute to bid strategy, win themes, and value propositions to strengthen competitive positioning.
  • Manage and coordinate design inputs during tender and contract stages.
  • Provide leadership and direction to bid teams, fostering collaboration and high performance.
  • Engage with key stakeholders and influence decision‑making across complex organisational structures.
  • Continuously improve bidding processes, driving innovation and best practice.

Skills, Experience And Qualifications

  • Proven senior‑level experience in work winning, including successful delivery of major, profitable bids.
  • Demonstrated success in quality‑led bidding, with a creative and innovative approach.
  • Strong understanding of commercial principles, procurement models, and contract terms and conditions.
  • Experience working within large, complex organisations and influencing stakeholders beyond your immediate team.
  • Background in delivering large‑scale projects in an operational environment, ideally at Project Manager level.
  • Experience managing design processes throughout tender and contract phases.
  • Knowledge of collaborative delivery models such as joint ventures and alliances.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
  • Strong organisational, planning, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Sound knowledge of construction practices, standards, and specifications, with specialist expertise in your discipline.
  • Collaborative, initiative‑taking, and adaptable mindset, with the ability to contribute across business units.
