The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
You will be required to manage and schedule safety, technical and operational training for our Energy Business Unit site and functional colleagues, ensuring compliance to align with accredited awarding bodies. Using our in-house CMS (Competency Management System) you will be responsible for maintaining accurate training records, coordinating with our internal trainers and external providers, advising and supporting projects on the correct qualifications for all site roles, supporting individual career development, and managing project training costs.
Key Responsibilities
- Train coordination & scheduling: Plan and organise internal and external training sessions, ensuring all personnel are adequately qualified and competent for a variety of roles.
- Compliance & records management: Maintain meticulous records of certifications, cards, competencies, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and customer requirements.
- Resource & provider management: Source and quality check external training providers, negotiate dates, locations, and costs ensuring excellent quality training and cost-effective delivery.
- Needs assessment & development: Assess training requirements across all Energy projects, developing site-specific training materials and workshops.
- Stakeholder liaison: Work closely with site management, project managers, supervisors and the customer to identify skill gaps and schedule necessary training.
- Advice and support: Work with individuals and projects to identify requirements and advise the best route to gain the required competency.
- Early talent support: Source additional operational, safety and technical training for apprentices, graduates, and placement students.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Knowledge of the Energy Industry: Awareness and understanding of the infrastructure energy industry, health & safety regulations, accredited awarding bodies (e.g., CITB, CSCS/CPCS), network authorisations, etc.
- Organisational skills: Excellent planning and multitasking abilities, with high attention to detail for audit purposes.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for liaising with site teams, subcontractors, internal and external training providers.
- Technical proficiency: Competence in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or HR systems.
Experience
Previous experience in training coordination, HR, or learning and development within the infrastructure sector is typically required, but training and support will be provided to assist your development in the role.

We have extensive experience in upgrading and replacing energy networks, delivering asset management for major UK energy companies and network operators. Our transmission and distribution services involve the upgrading and replacement of electricity assets both above and below ground. Within the electricity sector we install and maintain assets, including excavation, laying, and jointing of cables, (fluid filled and XLPe), substations and overhead line, new build, repair, and refurbishment services.
