We are looking for a motivated and ambitious Lead Social Value Manager to join our Water Highways overhead team, supporting the delivery of a range of exciting schemes. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is keen to further develop their skills and take on increasing levels of responsibility.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead Social Value input for tenders
  • Act as key contact for client Social Value leads
  • Build strong customer relationships to support work winning
  • Develop and deliver project/framework Social Value Plans
  • Undertake LANA and translate insights into targeted actions
  • Deliver programmes across skills, inclusion, community and supply chain
  • Collate and report Social Value data across key areas
  • Manage reporting via customer and internal platforms
  • Ensure accuracy, compliance, and deadlines are met
  • Represent the BU at key forums and industry groups
  • Co-chair National Highways Midlands SDF SV Forum
  • Plan and deliver activities aligned to LANA
  • Work with project teams and supply chain to meet targets
  • Ensure effective data capture across departments
  • Coach colleagues on Social Value
  • Drive best practice and continuous improvement

Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement
  • Experience in Social Value delivery and reporting
  • Ability to analyse and manage data from multiple sources to deadlines
  • Experience supporting tenders/work winning
  • Knowledge of SEE principles and supply chain development
  • Strong planning, organisation, and influencing skills
  • Full UK driving licence & willingness to travel
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Desirable

  • Knowledge of key clients (e.g. National Highways, water/utilities)
  • Experience with reporting tools and frameworks
  • Understanding of contracts, EDI, and community engagement
  • STEM/education engagement experience

About the Water|Highways Business Unit

Our Water team designs, builds, and maintains vital UK water infrastructure, ensuring secure water supply and wastewater services. We work with major water companies to create resilient facilities, reduce flood risks, and improve environmental outcomes. Currently, we participate in the Welsh Water AMP7 and AMP8 frameworks and have secured projects with Wessex Water for the next five years. These long-term framework agreements are part of a national £88 billion investment, requiring a collaborative and agile approach to meet the industry's challenges. Our Highways team delivers comprehensive services, from major national projects to local schemes, improving road journeys for millions daily. With expertise in tunnelling, bridges, and more, we provide end-to-end project support, including design, integration, and construction. Current projects include concrete road replacements for National Highways, smart motorway safety enhancements, and widening the A423 for Oxford City Council.
