We are looking for a motivated and ambitious Communications Business Partner to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is keen to further develop their skills and take on increasing levels of responsibility.

Role Responsibilities

  • Managing the relationships with leadership teams and key focus areas leads.
  • Main point of contact for the key focus areas/ business unit.
  • Accountable for the delivery of an annual communications strategy – with direction provided by the head of communications.
  • Accountable for managing the upload and ongoing management of the communications plan deliverables in the provided system.
  • Ability to decipher the management of work, where it can be managed internally or externally.
  • Event planning and management skills – with the ability to create a connection with the event and the core messages of the business / business unit (internal awards, conferences, external facing events, to name a few).
  • Manage the creation and distribution of internal communications through multiple channels (All-hands, newsletters, lunch and learns podcasts, to name a few), with support provided, where necessary.
  • Manage client-equivalent relationships to ensure we relate to their position and any client-led communications.
  • Work with the social media and digital creator to provide content for social media campaigns, which link back to our overall social media strategy.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • A relevant degree or professional communications qualification (CIPR, CIM) with ideally five years relevant experience in a communications team working in or for a large organisation.
  • Track record of campaign or business partner experience and effective use of research and evaluation techniques.
  • Basic understanding of Creative Cloud Suite.
  • Collaborative and proactive working style and thinking.
  • Collaborates with team and across the business.
  • Challenges the status quo.

About the Rail Business Unit
