Qualifications Required:

  • A Level EEE - Must include Mathematics and preferably a Science in either Chemistry or Physics (UCAS points: 48)
  • T-level (Pass or above) in Construction: Design, Surveying and Planning (UCAS points: 72)
  • BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma MPP in an Engineering subject area or Construction and Built Environment area (Must include Mathematics) (UCAS points: 64)
  • BTEC Level 3 National Diploma MM in an Engineering subject area, with a minimum of merit in Mathematics and Further Mathematics. (UCAS points: 64)
  • Building Services Engineering Technician level 3 apprenticeship MP (UCAS points: 48) alongside grade Pass or Distinction at EPA
  • Access to HE qualifications with 45 Passes supported by substantial relevant work experience
  • Other equivalent level 3 qualifications worth 64 UCAS points supported by substantial relevant work experience
  • Applications must hold 5 GCSEs A-C including Maths and English or equivalent (reformed GCSEs grade 4 or above).

Important Information:

Interviews will be held between 9th - 20th March only and an insight day on 27th March, please ensure you are available during those dates. Morgan Lovell are unable to employ anyone who does not have the legal right to live and work in the UK. The Company will therefore need to conduct right to work checks on any successful application and be satisfied of their right to work in the UK before they commence employment with us.

Opportunities:

We are looking for a Trainee Technical Services Manager, who is wanting to move into a site-based apprenticeship position. The role will report to the Operations Director and would be responsible for supporting and learning from Technical Services Managers. This would include:

  • Support with developing the building services brief for all projects
  • Support with the review of all building services subcontractor proposals
  • Support with the review of the proposed services drawings and specifications
  • Support with the production of a services check list for Project Managers to use
  • Support with technical support to the project team
  • Support with reviewing the quality of the mechanical and electrical installation
  • Support with producing a commissioning strategy

This role will be part of our Foundation Programme (early careers programme). Our Foundation Programme provides a rounded perspective of our business via additional training, rotations and mentoring over 3 years. It is important to get to know us, our people and how we work. The programme is driven by a structured training curriculum designed to develop business, technical and behavioural skills. The training sessions give a deeper understanding of how we operate as a business. Additionally, you gain responsibility as part of the team, build your network across the business whilst receiving support.

Upon completion of the Foundation Programme, you will go on to develop and grow your career with us – the development and progression opportunities do not start or end with the programme.

What can I expect?

Successful candidates will be enrolled initially on a Level 4 Building Services Engineering Technician apprenticeships at University on day release for 2 years. Upon successful completion, you will enrol on a top-up degree in Building Services Engineering for a further 3 years on day release. This is funded by the company and at no expense to yourself. You will have a dedicated mentor who will share their knowledge and experiences whilst having reviews with the Early Careers Manager and your mentor every 6 months for the duration of the programme. You will get to learn from some of the most talented, experienced, and well-established people in the industry who have in-depth knowledge and commitment to delivering exceptional work for our clients. You will be expected to create your own success and make your own decisions. In return, you will be well rewarded and continuously supported.
