We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Senior Planner to join us in delivering energy transmission projects in Central Scotland.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of detailed programmes in P6.
  • Support and mentor the wider planning team.
  • Review drawings and produce material take-offs to calculate activity durations.
  • Review sub-contractor programmes and integrate with our own programme.
  • Ensure the programme is produced on time by understanding the planning process to meet challenging deadlines, understanding the interface and reliance between elements/disciplines, and developing and monitoring integrated design, procurement, construction and commissioning programmes.
  • Update, monitor and communicate progress through the programme, programme narrative and dashboards.
  • Provide planning support to both the pre-contract, operations and commercial teams.
  • Understand civil construction techniques and develop them into the programme.
  • Communicate the programme to the client, operational teams and sub-contractors.
  • Support the operational teams with lookahead programmes.
  • Support collaborative planning workshops.
  • Take ownership of the programme.
  • Identify and communicate programme risks to the operations and commercial teams.
  • Manage and incorporate CE's into the construction programme and jointly with the commercial team, secure full entitlement under the contract.

Experience required:

  • A qualification in Civil Engineering/Construction to HND level or equivalent.
  • Experience of working in an operational role as a Section Engineer/Sub-Agent preferable.
  • Experience of working for a main contractor in a planning role essential.
  • Experience of working in the energy sector preferred.
  • Experience of working with P6 and MS Project.
  • Experience of using time chainage software is desirable but not essential.
  • A good understanding of NEC contracts.
  • Knowledge of the NEC change management process and experience of developing CE programmes.
  • Experience of creating PowerBi dashboards would be an advantage.
