Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a strategic and operational senior with a passion for people service excellence. You’ll bring deep expertise in people operations, policy governance, data, systems, and compliance, and the ability to guide a team through continuous improvement and change. If you thrive in complex, decentralised environments and have a sharp eye for process design, service delivery, and workforce strategy—this role is for you.

The Opportunity

This is a critical senior role within our Nuclear business unit. Reporting to the Head of People – Nuclear, you will oversee the HR Operations team, leading initiatives that improve the employee experience and align people services with strategic business priorities.

You’ll also work closely with divisional leaders and peers across the wider organisation, helping us stay ahead of transformation, compliance, and data-led decision-making.

What You’ll Do

Lead & develop the nuclear People Operations team to deliver efficient, timely, and compliant people services

Shape policy frameworks and process design, promoting fairness, agility, and continuous improvement

Ensure alignment with UK employment legislation and organisational governance standards

Champion technology and data innovation across systems, reporting, and workforce planning

Support key lifecycle processes from onboarding to offboarding, including mobility, performance, and retention

Act as an escalation point for complex operational matters, offering guidance with empathy and clarity

Partner with leaders to embed modern, scalable people operations that reflect our values and strategic goals

Drive transformation including digitisation, automation, and self-service capability

Demonstrated leadership in HR service delivery within a large, matrixed organisation

Expertise in HR operations, systems (e.g., HRIS), policy governance, and compliance

Strong analytical thinking with a data-informed mindset and excellent project leadership skills

Compassionate people leader, capable of fostering performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Exceptional communication and influencing ability with senior stakeholders
