Reporting to the Project Manager, the overall responsibility of this role is to ensure safe, successful execution and completion of a number of projects meeting defined timescales, quality standards and commercial objectives, managing relationships internal and external.
Responsibilities
- Responsible and accountable for a number of projects reporting to the Project Manager.
- To ensure high standards of health, safety and environmental issues within each project.
- To ensure safe, successful completion of each project meeting the engineering standards and the commercial objectives of each project.
- To identify and manage the risks associated with each project.
- To maintain excellent working relationships with all stakeholders.
- Work to continuously improve standards of performance.
- To work with the Project Manager and project teams to review and manage projects from cradle to grave, from feasibility, estimating, design, construction and handover.
- To work with the Project Teams to review the project plan, business plan and procurement plan.
- To ensure all projects are driven to provide the best value solutions, and delivered on time and within budgets.
- To ensure all engineering designs meet required standards.
- To review safety / quality plans and ensure it meets the highest standards.
- During the project running phase, to make regular site visits to monitor progress, identify and resolve problems and ensuring compliance with the programme.
- To review the administration and all record keeping associated with each project.
- To oversee all aspects of the project completion phase.
- Review projects and close out reports with the Project Manager and identify the main issues for continuous learning and improvement.
- To review the project team with the Project Manager and review the allocation of resources.
- During the project running phase, to undertake regular review of the productivity on site.
- To meet with the Project Manager at regular intervals to review progress, give and receive feedback.
- To contribute to performance reviews of people, working with the Project Manager.
- To provide ongoing support and direction to people during the project helping them to overcome problems and barriers to success.
