Due to significant growth, we are looking for a dynamic and experienced Head of Projects to join our Public Sector team. This role will be managing the development and execution of any assigned medium to large-scale projects within BakerHicks Public Sector, supporting business objectives within the sector. This includes oversight of all project management activities, from tenders and proposals, business case, front‑end project development activities, through the management of delivery through all phases to client handover. You will contribute to our success through building positive relationships with our clients, customers, stakeholders and internal BakerHicks Teams, to help deliver the budget targets for 2025 and beyond.

Key Objectives

  • Provide overall management of a large Portfolio of Custodial Projects, working closely with the Head of Design Management and Project Managers, reporting directly to the Sector Director.
  • In conjunction with the Project Manager, take control of the project development and manage the execution from Contract Award through to handover and project close.
  • In conjunction with the Project Manager, ensure scope and deliverables are clearly defined and delivered per the project requirements.
  • Manage the interfaces and relationships with the senior client team members.

About You

You will have significant experience delivering large, and multiple, projects (through all stages) in the construction industry with a Design Engineering Consultancy or Contractor. Demonstrable experience in design specialising in a given discipline. Demonstrable Project delivery skills in a design delivery environment. Demonstrable organisational skills in a design delivery environment. Commercially astute and able to foresee and manage Risk / Change proactively.
