Key responsibilities

  • Ensure Work in their Area is executed safely via the management of allotted tasks using existing construction methodologies, process and procedures working in line with existing PPP policies.
  • The role holder will demonstrate relevant industry experience and an established knowledge of standard principles, theories and practices for construction work, as well as a good working knowledge of the wider industry.

Accountabilities

  • When required – Monitor Commissioning and Completions activity to ensure that they are being achieved in line with operating procedures and work instructions within pre-defined safety, quality, schedule and cost standards.
  • Comply with national laws/regulations and adhere to the Construction Management Process including company-wide & functional operating procedures and work instructions to act in line with standardised working practices.
  • Support the implementation of key safety/quality communications, including safety and critical task protocols (e.g. error prevention tools), to ensure that all site activity is conducted in line with company/customer standards.
  • Look for opportunities for efficiency savings and development as well as contributing to project reviews/lessons learned in order to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with all team members to ensure the achievement of safety, quality, schedule and cost standards.
  • Build and maintain an internal and external (customer, contract partner and supplier) relationship network in order to sustain performance against safety, quality, schedule and cost standards.
  • Contribute to decision making to satisfy stakeholder requirements.
  • Ensure that post-job assessments are completed in line with event completion dates so that accurate development records are retained for each employee.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge and application of Commissioning Engineering and Management. Must be well versed and competent in the systemisation of industrial projects and in management of the mechanical completion process.
  • In-depth knowledge and application of the requirements of UK/EU Laws and Regulations applicable to construction, commissioning and completions tasks assigned.
  • Knowledge and understanding of problem solving and risk management techniques.
  • Experience and application of the Critical Task process are essential.
  • Extensive experience of safety documentation requirements.
  • Technical/Process Apprenticeship/ Marine Engineer/Design Engineer or similar.
  • HNC/HND Engineering, Technical /Process subject. Mechanical / Electrical / Building Services or Process or similar. Significant related experience may be acceptable in some cases.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Commissioning and Completions process in an industrial environment such as Power/Energy, Oil and Gas, Petrochem or Pharmaceuticals.
  • Be highly competent in the use of and application of Completion Management Systems such as WINPCS, GoC, Orbit, and ICAPS.
  • Has experience in the compilation of technical reports and be familiar with contributing to Studies at FEED, Conceptual and Delivery stages.
  • Able to demonstrate commissioning activities are conducted in accordance with company policy, legislative, regulatory, environmental, safety and quality requirements.
  • Ensures the implementation of project commissioning arrangements in accordance with SLMS.
  • Can develop and execute effective commission strategies and plans in line with the overall project strategies and plans
  • Ability to identify commissioning scope of work and assessment criteria in invitation to tender and subsequent assessments.
  • Ability to ensure shared best practice and commissioning methods and procedures are considered for use in the PPP projects commissioning scope.
  • IT Skills, Planning and Project Management,

Preferred

  • BSc Degree in Construction Project Management. Or BSc/BEng in Mechanical / Electrical / BE/ Process engineering. NVQ Level 7 Construction Management.
  • Experience in a Completions Management Role.
  • Delivery/selection of Completions software.
