As a Construction Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects from start to finish. You will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
Key responsibilities:- Providing leadership and guidance to the project team throughout the construction lifecycle.
- Developing and implementing project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Conducting regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance.
- Managing and negotiating contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Identifying and resolving any project-related issues or conflicts.
- Ensuring adherence to building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Coordinating with clients to ensure their requirements are met and expectations are exceeded.
- Implementing and promoting best practices in construction methodologies and techniques.
- Managing project documentation, including permits, drawings, and change orders.
- Conducting regular project meetings and reporting progress to senior management.
Experience of developing projects, working collaboratively with Engineering function to resolve clashes and interface issues pre site.
Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.
- A master's degree would be an advantage (not essential).
- Proven experience as a Construction Director or similar senior-level position in the construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and best practices.
- Strong leadership abilities with a track record of successfully managing large-scale projects.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Sound understanding of building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Proficient in project management software and tools.
- Professional certifications such as PMP or CMIT are highly desirable.
- Experience of digital construction tools such as BIM & 4D planning.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to project sites as required.
