We are looking for a Trainee Technical Services Manager who is willing to move into a site‑based apprenticeship position. The role will report to the Operations Director and support Technical Services Managers while learning key technical and project‑management skills.
Responsibilities
- Support the development of building services briefs for all projects.
- Review building services subcontractor proposals.
- Review proposed services drawings and specifications.
- Produce a services checklist for Project Managers to use.
- Provide technical support to the project team.
- Review the quality of mechanical and electrical installations.
- Produce a commissioning strategy.
Foundation Programme
This role is part of our Foundation Programme, an early‑career programme that spans three years. The programme offers structured training, rotations, mentoring and a network across the business to develop business, technical and behavioural skills. Upon completion of the Foundation Programme, you will further develop and grow your career with us. The programme does not limit future progression opportunities.
Program Details
Successful candidates are initially enrolled on a Level 4 Building Services Engineering Technician apprenticeship at university with day release for two years. After successful completion, you enrol on a top‑up degree in Building Services Engineering for an additional three years on day release. This is funded by the company and incurs no cost to you. You receive a dedicated mentor and have reviews with the Early Careers Manager and your mentor every six months throughout the programme. You learn from experienced professionals in the industry and have opportunities to work on challenging projects.

Qualifications and Requirements
- A Level (EEE) – Must include Mathematics and preferably a science in either Chemistry or Physics (48 UCAS points).
- T‑level (Pass or above) in Construction: Design, Surveying and Planning (72 UCAS points).
- BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma MPP in an engineering subject area or construction/building environment area (Must include Mathematics and Mathematics) (64 UCAS points).
- BTEC Level 3 National Diploma MM in an engineering subject area, with a minimum of merit in Mathematics and Further Mathematics (64 UCAS points).
- Building Services Engineering Technician Level 3 apprenticeship MP (48 UCAS points) alongside Grade Pass or Distinction at EPA.
- Access to HE qualifications with 45 Passes supported by substantial relevant work experience.
- Other equivalent Level 3 qualifications worth 64 UCAS points supported by substantial relevant work experience.
- Applicants must hold five GCSEs A–C including Maths and English or equivalent (reformed GCSEs grade 4 or above).
