About the role
You will be working within our North East & Cumbria business, where you will:
- Be responsible for day-to-day surveying and setting out of engineering and building works
- General management and co-ordination of digital engineering information
- Ensure quality control requirements are met and recorded in accordance with specification
- Operate and promote a high standard of health and safety and environment compliance
- Plan and schedule the work and efficiently organise the site in order to meet an agreed programme of deadlines
- Attend regular meetings with the section engineer/sub agent/agent to update on progress of works
- Supervise and monitor the site labour force through general foreman and/or supervisors, monitoring the work of any subcontractors to complete the work as per customer satisfaction
- Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise at any time
What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who is educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant industry subject and who has proven experience as a Site Engineer, working on a construction site. You’ll have completed a CSCS 5 day safety qualification and hold a relevant CSCS card, and have sound knowledge of construction methods, Health & Safety, and legal regulations. You’ll have good planning and time management skills and have some experience of supervising a team. You’ll be confident when it comes to setting out earthworks and structures and have a good understanding of bill of quantities. You’ll have some experience of AutoCAD and be comfortable handling situations and problems.
