We are looking for an experienced built environment professional to lead the Sustainability function across the East region of Morgan Sindall Construction. Reporting to Regional leadership, you will be responsible for the sustainability performance of Construction East business and its projects, including project input within pre-construction and construction phases, strategy setting at project and business levels, managing our Whole Life Carbon Assessment process, and working to achieve sustainable performance across all aspects. This position is based across the East with the requirement for 1‑day a week in each of the offices and regular site visits.

  • You may be an individual with consulting experience or already working within a main contractor looking for the next step in your career.
  • This opportunity includes the leadership of the sustainability function, influencing and guiding teams through the Morgan Sindall Responsible Business approach.
  • An individual who values and promotes the benefit of sustainability within the construction industry, is able to communicate to senior business individuals, project team members and externally in forums, business development as an advocate of Morgan Sindall and sustainability.
  • An environmental or sustainability qualification is not essential if suitable prior sustainability experience can be evidenced.
  • Ideally you will have previous large or medium scale project experience.
  • Knowledge of WLCA standards and methodologies.
  • Previous knowledge of UKNZCBS, NZCiO principles, LETI, UKGBC guidance and other influential sustainability stakeholders.
  • Network of existing consultant contacts and relationships.
  • Ability to lead a professional team of consultants along with strong sustainability knowledge including Passivhaus/Nabers/BREEAM previous project experience across the Bid/Delivery stage.
  • Extensive experience in Pre-construction (PSCA), BIM, embodied carbon calculation, Energy-in-use, is advantageous.
  • Experience presenting to a variety of stakeholders/customers in both the work winning environment and also regular reporting process.
