Location: Chelmsford Project Based/Office Based, with flexibility for occasional remote working.
You are a highly organised and competent Document Controller who will set up, manage and maintain project document control systems in line with the company, customer and project standards. You will assist Project and Design Managers from pre‑construction through to delivery, supporting the commercial team to ensure our supply chain partners have access to relevant information.
About the Role
Working within our Construction East business, you will coordinate all activities related to the document control procedure, including technical documents, drawings and commercial correspondence.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate document control activities, input data into standard registers ensuring accuracy and up‑to‑date information.
- Ensure controlled copies of latest approved documents and drawings are issued to appropriate staff, sub‑contractors and suppliers.
- Issue and receive controlled documentation, log issues and receivers, and create general electronic transmittals to the project, customer and suppliers.
- Assist the document control team with issue, receipt and tracking of all engineering and supplier deliverables through to close‑out and hand‑over stage.
- Endorse the corporate content management system ensuring business system continuity is met.
- Maintain accurate registers and actions lists.
- Act as focal point for all team document management matters.
- Assist with coordination of document management across the whole project including policies, protocols and practice.
Desired Qualifications
- Previous Document Control experience.
- Knowledge of construction practices and standards.
- Experience setting up and using electronic document management systems.
- Ability to keep clear and accurate records and reports.
- A full UK driving licence is essential.
