Fast-Paced Manufacturing Environment - Senior Hands-On Role

We're looking for an experienced Senior Production Planner to join our client's established BRC manufacturing facility.

This is a genuinely senior, hands-on role where you'll take responsibility for both day-to-day production planning and longer-term demand and capacity planning.

The key requirement

You must have previously operated at a senior level within production demand planning in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You'll need to be comfortable working under pressure, managing changing priorities and making quick, informed decisions to keep production on track. Experience gained in a slow-moving or predominantly administrative planning environment will not be suitable.

The role

You'll be at the heart of the manufacturing operation, balancing future demand and capacity requirements with the day-to-day needs of production.

You'll attend senior planning and operational meetings, helping shape future production plans while remaining hands‑on with scheduling, problem‑solving and managing changing priorities.

You'll also lead two direct reports, supporting their development while remaining closely involved in the operation yourself.

What's on offer?

Alongside a salary of up to £45,000, you'll receive a strong benefits package, including:

  • 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing every January to a maximum of 28 days
  • Medicash healthcare scheme, covering contributions towards dental treatment, diagnostic tests and scans, specialist treatment and complimentary therapies
  • Option to add your partner and children to the Medicash scheme for a small monthly fee
  • Pension: 5% employee / 4% employer contribution, with access to a salary sacrifice scheme
  • Access to an independent financial advisor, including face-to-face advice sessions at the site throughout the year
  • Company sick pay following successful completion of probation
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity pay, dependent on length of service
  • 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme, providing confidential counselling and advice
  • Access to Benefits Hub, offering exclusive discounts, cashback and money-saving offer

Key responsibilities

  • Lead production and demand planning across the site
  • Manage short-, medium- and long-term production plans
  • Plan around future demand, capacity and resource requirements
  • Attend senior planning and operational meetings
  • Manage day-to-day production schedules and changing priorities
  • Identify and resolve capacity, material and scheduling issues
  • Work closely with production, operations and purchasing teams
  • Lead and develop two direct reports
  • Drive improvements across planning processes

What we're looking for

  • Senior-level production demand planning experience
  • Experience gained within a fast-paced manufacturing environment - essential
  • Strong production, demand and capacity planning knowledge
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience
  • Confident, analytical and commercially minded
  • A hands‑on approach with the ability to get into the detail
