Are you a creative problem-solver with a passion for continuous improvement and lean manufacturing? Do you enjoy taking ideas from concept to production? We have a fantastic opportunity which would suit a Manufacturing Engineer / Process Engineer / Industrial Engineer / NPI Engineer to join a global technology company best known for designing high quality products used in military, law enforcement and rescue applications. This is a brand new position on this site giving you the opportunity to make the role your own and create a real impact!
Key Tasks:
- Drive the seamless transition of new products from prototype to full-scale manufacturing
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) both from a Design for Manufacture (DFM) perspective and operational performance
- Collaborate with Design Engineers to ensure products are built with manufacturability in mind
- Oversee installation, commissioning and set up of new machines
- Creation and management of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
- Responsible for routing, work centres, cycle times and production configuration in SAP
- Design and implement jigs, fixtures and tooling to boost efficiency and quality
- Support the business improvement plans with lean techniques e.g., PFMEA, DFMEA
- Analyse costs and deliver solutions that improve both performance and profitability
- Optimise processes through Lean, Six Sigma and other proven tools
- Travel occasionally to support our UK & US operations
Requirements:
- Qualified in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering (HNC/HND/Degree)
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role within an engineering or manufacturing environment
- Hands-on approach and a deep understanding of production processes and industrial equipment
- Experience of DFMEA
- Experience in the use of Microsoft Office. Any experience with SAP, Minitab or similar – advantageous
- Ability to read technical drawings, Bills of Materials (BOM’s), and technical specifications
- Strong communicator and team player, capable of leading cross-functional projects
- UK Driving License and valid passport
