About the Role
As a Production Engineer, you'll be responsible for programming, setting, and operating advanced 3-5 axis CNC machining centres. You'll create machining strategies from both CAD models and from scratch when required, while producing high-precision components to tight tolerances. This is a hands-on role within a skilled and collaborative team where your experience and ideas will be highly valued.
Candidate Requirements
- Apprentice trained or relevant engineering qualification
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a 5 Axis CNC Miller/Programmer
- Knowledge of Heidenhain and Fanuc controls
- Proficient with SolidWorks and Fusion 360
- Ability to create programs from scratch, including when no CAD model is provided
- Experience with fixture and jig design/manufacture
Key Responsibilities
- Programming, setting, and operating 3-5 axis CNC machining centres
- Creating machining strategies with or without CAD models
- Developing full toolpaths using SolidWorks and Fusion 360
- Working confidently with Heidenhain and Fanuc controls
- Designing and manufacturing fixtures, jigs, and work holding solutions
- Producing high-precision components to tight tolerances
- Reading engineering drawings/3D models and converting them into efficient machining processes
- Continuously improving machining methods to maximise productivity and quality
