Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will lead the site's maintenance function, driving equipment reliability, engineering performance, compliance and continuous improvement across a modern, highly automated manufacturing facility. This is a visible leadership role with significant influence across operations, engineering and continuous improvement initiatives, offering genuine scope to shape maintenance strategy and develop a high-performing team.

The Opportunity

As Maintenance Lead, you will take ownership of planned and reactive maintenance activities, engineering resource planning, contractor management, stores control and maintenance systems. You will play a key role in improving plant reliability, reducing downtime and supporting a culture of operational excellence.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and develop the site's maintenance team
  • Manage preventative maintenance program and CMMS
  • Drive improvements in equipment reliability and asset performance
  • Manage engineering contractors and external resources
  • Support continuous improvement and RCA activities
  • Maintain engineering compliance, safety standards and statutory inspections
  • Collaborate closely with Production, Operations and Engineering stakeholders to support business objectives.

About You

We are looking for a proactive and engaging engineering leader who combines strong technical capability with excellent people management skills.

Key skills & experience:

  • Qualified Mechanical or Electrical Engineer
  • Experience leading maintenance teams within a manufacturing, process or industrial environment; chemical, pharmaceutical, food & beverage, FMCG, process manufacturing or similarly regulated industries.
  • Strong understanding of preventative maintenance, asset management and reliability principles
  • Experience working with a CMMS
  • A background in mechanical, electrical or chemical engineering
  • Strong leadership skills along with the ability to coach, develop and motivate teams
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience operating within highly regulated manufacturing environments.
