We are a leading electrical distributor seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth and take ownership of new and existing business opportunities across the South of England. This is a strategic, contractor-focused role for someone who thrives on building long-term partnerships and delivering measurable sales results.
You will work closely with M&E contractors, consultants, and key end users across industrial, nuclear, datacentre, and large-scale construction projects. This role requires someone who can actively generate new opportunities and grow revenue from contractors, rather than solely managing existing accounts.
Working from home with full territory ownership, you will operate as a trusted commercial partner, supported by internal sales, technical, and supply chain teams.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and execute a territory sales strategy focused on contractors and large-scale projects.
- Identify, target, and convert new business opportunities within your territory.
- Build and maintain senior-level relationships with decision-makers in M&E contractors and consultancy firms.
- Drive revenue growth and margin improvement through project support, specification influence, and cross-selling.
- Lead commercial discussions, pricing agreements, and long-term supply arrangements.
- Support customers throughout the full project lifecycle — from design and specification to delivery.
