The Role:

We are looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead electrical compliance and engineering operations across the site. This position plays a vital role in ensuring all electrical systems remain safe, fully compliant, and capable of supporting both current operations and future site development.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assume overall accountability for site-wide electrical compliance, ensuring all statutory and regulatory obligations are satisfied.
  • Oversee and manage the Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) schedule and programme.
  • Coordinate and supervise electrical inspection and testing activities, ensuring completion to the required standards.
  • Identify, schedule and manage remedial electrical works in a structured and prioritised manner.
  • Provide technical direction, support and mentorship to site electricians.
  • Supervise and manage external electrical contractors to ensure safe and compliant delivery of work.
  • Lead and deliver electrical improvement projects, system upgrades and site enhancements.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate electrical compliance records and documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety legislation, implementing and maintaining safe systems of work.
  • Act as the site's electrical technical authority, providing expert guidance and oversight.

Skills, Experience & Competencies:

  • Demonstrated experience within a commercial or industrial electrical environment.
  • Strong expertise in electrical inspection and testing, including conducting and managing EICRs.
  • Experience delivering electrical projects within an operational industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Good understanding of BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and the ability to apply regulations effectively in a practical site setting.
  • Ability to read, interpret and work from detailed electrical schematics and circuit diagrams.
  • Experience overseeing contractors and coordinating work activities safely and efficiently.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory, senior electrician or lead engineering capacity is advantageous.
  • Methodical and detail-oriented approach to compliance and documentation.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with electricians, contractors and senior management.
  • Decisive and accountable, demonstrating ownership of responsibilities and outcomes.
  • Capable of mentoring and developing team members, sharing technical expertise and best practice.
  • Well organised and proactive, able to effectively prioritise workload within a busy operational environment.
  • Professional, composed and effective when working under pressure.

Qualifications:

  • Recognised electrical qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
  • City & Guilds 2391-52 (or equivalent) - Inspection & Testing.
  • Current BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations).

Shift: Monday to Thursday 07:30 - 15:30 / Friday 07:30 - 13:00
