The Role
We are looking for an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer/ Maintenance Supervisor to take charge of engineering reliability and performance, reducing downtime and making the most of the plant\’s potential. This role is a vital cog in a 24/7 operation, with influence across the site and close collaboration with the Engineering Manager—who you will also be deputising for when required.
You will manage a team of six skilled Engineers, plan weekly maintenance schedules, oversee continuous improvement projects and take ownership of mechanical investigations and solutions. It’s a challenging, rewarding role with real impact.
Requirements
- Degree (or minimum HND) in Mechanical Engineering
- Proven experience in a heavy engineering manufacturing environment
- Hands-on knowledge of pumps, bearings, rotating equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics (steam systems a plus)
- Confident team leader and motivator, with strong organisational and planning skills
- Skilled in Root Cause Analysis (RCA), continuous improvement and CAPEX project support
- Flexible and dependable, able to support a 24/7 operation (on-call required)
