The Opportunity
You will join a small, high-impact HR team supporting a growing and technically advanced business. This role has been created to provide critical support during a period of change and growth, while also laying the foundations for a more structured and scalable HR function.
Key Responsibilities
- Policy & Process Development
- Review, create and implement HR policies and procedures
- Consolidate and refine existing documentation into clear, practical frameworks
- Support the development of consistent, scalable HR processes
- Operational HR Support
- Manage day-to-day HR queries and provide timely, accurate advice
- Support employee lifecycle activities including contracts, changes to terms, and documentation
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of HR data and systems
- Stakeholder Management
- Build strong relationships with line managers across the business
- Coach and guide managers who may have limited people management experience
- Act as a trusted advisor, helping managers navigate people challenges
- Recruitment Support & Coordination
- Drive recruitment processes to conclusion, ensuring pace and efficiency
- Support hiring managers with best practice and structure
- Track and manage recruitment activity to ensure visibility and accountability
- Training & Development Support
- Assist in delivering internal training sessions (e.g. investigations, return-to-work processes)
- Contribute to building management capability across the organisation
- Opportunity to gain exposure to L&D initiatives
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify inefficiencies and proactively suggest improvements
- Support the implementation of systems, metrics, and reporting
- Help embed a more proactive, solutions-focused HR approach
- Generalist HR & Employee Relations
- Provide support on ER matters with guidance from the HR lead
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation and internal standards
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism
What We Are Looking For
- Previous experience in a HR Advisor / Officer level role
- Strong practical HR knowledge across generalist activities
- Ability to work at pace and manage multiple priorities
- Confident decision-maker who can use initiative and 'read the room'
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders
- Comfortable working in an evolving, sometimes ambiguous environment
- Good IT and systems capability (essential for improving processes and documentation)
- CIPD qualification (or working towards) desirable but not essential
