We are partnering with a global engineering-led organisation who design and manufacture specialist heavy industrial equipment used in some of the world's most demanding environments. We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Design Engineer to join the Portsmouth team at new UK facility. This is a key role where you will take ownership of complex electromechanical product development, leading projects from concept through to launch.

Key Responsibilities- Lead end-to-end design and development of complex systems
- Translate customer requirements into robust product specifications
- Produce detailed CAD designs (Inventor or SolidWorks)
- Perform engineering analysis (FEA, tolerance stack-ups, risk assessments)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Support testing, validation and product launch
- Engage directly with customers and end users
- Apply design for manufacturability and lean principles
- Manage multiple projects to deliver on time
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
- Min 7 years' experience in designing large fabrications with high tolerance features to support electro-mechanical integration
- Design experience gained in heavy industrial, mining, shipbuilding, military, nuclear, O&G or similar
- Strong mechanical or electromechanical design background
- Experience delivering complex industrial products
- Proficiency in CAD modelling (Inventor / SolidWorks)
- Knowledge of FEA, DFMEA or similar tools
- Ability to lead projects and make technical decisions
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Hands-on, practical engineering mindset
