Are you ready to take your career to the next level in a forward-thinking engineering environment? We are recruiting a talented Electronics Design Engineer to join a dynamic team developing cutting-edge products used in the defence sector.
Key Tasks- Designing and developing electronic systems across the full product lifecycle – from concept through to end-of-life.
- Collaborating with mechanical and software teams to bring innovative products to market.
- Capturing specifications, selecting technologies, and producing schematic designs and simulations.
- Leading PCB layout, peer reviews, and design verification testing.
- Supporting production with fault finding, documentation, and component obsolescence management.
- Writing technical notes, reports, and test specifications.
- Occasionally visiting customers and suppliers (a full UK driving licence is required).
- Degree-qualified in Electronic Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years' experience in design and development, ideally with electro-mechanical or control systems.
- Strong skills in PCB design (Altium or similar), circuit simulation (SPICE), and Matlab/Simulink.
- Hands-on ability with soldering and prototype circuit building.
- Knowledge of control theory, servo systems, DSP, EMC standards (Mil-Std 461/810), and PCB manufacturing processes - advantageous.
- Knowledge of: embedded C/C++, application-level C++/C#, and mechanical understanding.
- Effective communication skills and a strong mathematical foundation.
