Electronics Design Engineer

Are you ready to take your career to the next level in a forward-thinking engineering environment? We are recruiting a talented Electronics Design Engineer to join a dynamic team developing cutting-edge products used in the defence sector.

Key Tasks

• Designing and developing electronic systems across the full product lifecycle – from concept through to end-of-life.

• Collaborating with mechanical and software teams to bring innovative products to market.

• Capturing specifications, selecting technologies, and producing schematic designs and simulations.

• Leading PCB layout, peer reviews, and design verification testing.

• Supporting production with fault finding, documentation, and component obsolescence management.

• Writing technical notes, reports, and test specifications.

• Occasionally visiting customers and suppliers (a full UK driving licence is required).

Requirements

• Degree-qualified in Electronic Engineering (or equivalent experience).

• 5+ years\' experience in design and development, ideally with electro-mechanical or control systems.

• Strong skills in PCB design (Altium or similar), circuit simulation (SPICE), and Matlab/Simulink.

• Hands-on ability with soldering and prototype circuit building.

• Knowledge of control theory, servo systems, DSP, EMC standards (Mil-Std 461/810), and PCB manufacturing processes - advantageous

• Knowledge of: embedded C/C++, application-level C++/C#, and mechanical understanding.

• Effective communication skills and a strong mathematical foundation.
