The Opportunity
We are recruiting on behalf of a highly successful, growing UK manufacturing business who supply electro-mechanical products to the security sector. This is a standout opportunity for a Production Manager to take ownership of a key area within the operation and play a central role in driving the business toward operational excellence. You will be joining at an exciting time, during a period of investment, systems transformation, and long-term growth, with plans to relocate to a modern Brighton facility in the next 2-3 years.
The Role
As Production Manager, you will lead a team of approximately 45 employees, supported by Team Leaders, across a multi-discipline manufacturing environment. Key responsibilities include:
- Driving Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost Performance (SQDCP)
- Leading, coaching, and developing Team Leaders
- Embedding continuous improvement and best practice manufacturing
- Introducing structure, consistency and performance accountability
- Supporting digital transformation and system improvements
- Creating a high-performing culture while maintaining a strong people focus
Requirements
We are seeking a strong, hands-on leader who can bring structure, challenge thinking and drive improvements. You will ideally have:
- Experience leading production teams in a manufacturing environment
- Exposure to structured, process-driven industries (e.g. automotive, aerospace, FMCG, pharma, electronics)
- A solid understanding of Lean, CI, or operational excellence principles
- Experience improving processes, systems and team performance
- The confidence to challenge the norm and implement change
- A leadership style that balances people engagement with accountability
