A hands-on HSE role where you can make a genuine difference. We're looking for an experienced HSE Manager who has operated as a standalone lead within an SME manufacturing environment and knows how to turn good HSE practice into real-world results.
The business is looking for someone who can take ownership, quickly understand where the gaps are and build a stronger, more proactive HSE culture.
You’ll ideally have:
- Standalone HSE management experience within SME manufacturing
- A proven track record of implementing improvements and getting things done
- Strong practical experience with machinery, equipment and varied manufacturing processes
- Experience with machinery risk assessments, guarding, isolation/LOTO and safe systems of work
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)
- Good knowledge of UK HSE legislation, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
- Strong incident investigation and RIDDOR experience
- A commercially aware and pragmatic approach
- The confidence to influence everyone from operators to senior leadership
- The drive to work hard, meet deadlines and take ownership of outcomes
The environment is a varied manufacturing site with a wide range of equipment and processes, so someone who enjoys getting to grips with different machinery and practical safety challenges will thrive here. We're particularly interested in people who are used to working with autonomy and accountability, rather than those who have always operated within large HSE teams with multiple layers of support.
