About the Opportunity

We are working with a well-established, growing engineering manufacturer based on the Wirral who are expanding their workshop team due to a strong order book and continued investment. The business designs and builds high-performance, specialist equipment for demanding environments, supplying customers globally across defence, marine and commercial sectors. This is a hands-on, build-focused role where you will be involved in assembling complete systems, not just repetitive production work.

The Roles

  • Mechanical Fitters
    • Working to engineering drawings
    • Assembly and installation of mechanical systems
    • Alignment, fitting and integration of complex assemblies
    • System testing
  • Electrical Fitters
    • Reading electrical schematics
    • Panel wiring, cable routing, harness assembly
    • Installation of electrical systems and components
    • Control panel build
    • Testing, fault finding and system integration

Both roles contribute to full build projects from start to finish.

Key requirements:

  • Apprentice trained engineer (min NVQ level 3)
  • Proven experience in a mechanical or electrical fitting / assembly role
  • Ability to read and work from technical drawings
  • Background in industries such as:
    • Automotive / vehicle build
    • Rail / rolling stock
    • Machinery / OEM manufacturing
    • Marine or defence
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship

On offer:

  • Starting rate of £16.50 p/hr rising up to £18.50 p/hr
