The Opportunity

You will take full responsibility for leading a complex assembly and test operation, ensuring the delivery of world-class manufacturing performance across Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People. Working closely with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain, you will play a key role in driving operational excellence, supporting new product introduction (NPI), and developing a highly engaged, high-performing workforce. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will influence both day-to-day performance and longer-term strategic improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a multi-disciplinary production team within a highly regulated manufacturing environment
  • Drive operational performance across key metrics including OEE, On-Time Delivery, First Pass Yield and cost efficiency
  • Implement and sustain Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement and Root Cause methodologies
  • Ensure full compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
  • Oversee production planning, capacity management and resource optimisation
  • Foster a strong safety-first culture and champion employee engagement and development
  • Support new product introduction, process improvements and manufacturing innovation

About You

  • Proven experience in a Production / Manufacturing leadership role within aerospace, defence or similar regulated industry
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams
  • Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement and production planning
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP, Syteline)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical capability
  • Background in assembly and test operations (mechanical, electro-mechanical or similar)
