The Opportunity
As Export & Trade Compliance Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring full compliance with UK, European and US export control and trade regulations across a multi-site international manufacturing group. Reporting at senior level, you will be the go-to expert for export compliance, advising leadership and working cross-functionally to protect the business while enabling continued growth. This role will suit someone with exceptional attention to detail, strong regulatory knowledge and the confidence to operate with authority in a dynamic, customer-focused organisation.
Responsibilities
- Act as the lead officer for export control and trade compliance across the group
- Ensure compliance with UK Dual-Use controls, EU regulations, and US EAR / ITAR requirements
- Manage export control licensing, monitoring, auditing and reporting
- Provide clear guidance and advice to Directors on compliance policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with supplier-imposed export requirements
- Support supplier due diligence, audit and ethical sourcing requirements
About You
You will be highly organised, detail-oriented and comfortable working in a regulated technical environment. You will enjoy problem-solving, researching complex regulations and working collaboratively across teams and borders.
Ideal Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of UK, EU and US trade compliance and export control regulations
- Experience with Dual-Use controls, EAR and/or ITAR
- Experience within composites, carbon fibre or similar advanced materials would be highly advantageous
- Outstanding attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive, self-motivated and pragmatic approach
