Are you a technically skilled professional with a background in marine engineering or boat maintenance? Do you want to work directly with customers, providing hands-on technical expertise while representing a leading UK-based organisation at their site in the Netherlands?
We are recruiting for a Service Engineer to be based on-site with our client at the Dutch Naval Base. This is a customer-facing, technical role where you will be the main point of contact for service, maintenance, and diagnostics of specialist marine equipment.
What you’ll be doing:
- Acting as the on-site technical expert for marine equipment, providing diagnostics, troubleshooting, and hands-on support.
- Building strong relationships with the customer, ensuring a high standard of service and communication.
- Producing technical reports, updates, and occasional presentations for both customer and UK headquarters.
- Coordinating with UK teams and travelling back to the UK occasionally for training and updates.
- Supporting the customer with day-to-day technical queries and ensuring issues are resolved efficiently.
What we’re looking for:
- Dutch national, fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken).
- Able to pass Dutch and UK Security Clearance (SC level) to access the naval base.
- Marine/boat background - ideally through an apprenticeship or vocational training programme.
- Hands-on technical skills with diagnostics, repairs, and equipment servicing.
- IT literate and confident using technology to manage reports and systems.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to the UK.
