Senior Buyer - 6-Month Contract -Hybrid

Are you an experienced Senior Buyer with a strong manufacturing background and a hands-on approach to procurement?

Our client, a leading manufacturer, is looking for a Senior Buyer to join their established procurement team on an initial 6-month contract.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced buyer to take ownership of purchasing activity, supplier performance and commercial delivery within a complex manufacturing environment.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for

  • Managing day-to-day purchasing and purchase orders.
  • Obtaining quotations and negotiating pricing and commercial terms.
  • Managing supplier lead times, deliveries and expediting where required.
  • Building strong supplier relationships and addressing cost, quality and delivery issues.
  • Supporting cost reduction and supplier improvement initiatives.
  • Working closely with production, engineering, quality and planning to ensure continuity of supply.
  • Identifying and resolving supply chain risks and purchasing issues.

You’ll have

  • Experience within manufacturing (essential).
  • Strong supplier management and negotiation skills.
  • Experience managing orders, lead times and delivery performance.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach to problem solving.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Aerospace, automotive, defence or other regulated manufacturing experience would be advantageous.
