Are you an experienced Senior Buyer with a strong manufacturing background and a hands-on approach to procurement? Our client, a leading manufacturer, is looking for a Senior Buyer to join their established procurement team on an initial 6-month contract. This is a great opportunity for an experienced buyer to take ownership of purchasing activity, supplier performance and commercial delivery within a complex manufacturing environment.
The Role
- Managing day-to-day purchasing and purchase orders.
- Obtaining quotations and negotiating pricing and commercial terms.
- Managing supplier lead times, deliveries and expediting where required.
- Building strong supplier relationships and addressing cost, quality and delivery issues.
- Supporting cost reduction and supplier improvement initiatives.
- Working closely with production, engineering, quality and planning to ensure continuity of supply.
- Identifying and resolving supply chain risks and purchasing issues.
You'll have:
- Experience within manufacturing (essential).
- Strong supplier management and negotiation skills.
- Experience managing orders, lead times and delivery performance.
- A proactive, hands-on approach to problem solving.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Aerospace, automotive, defence or other regulated manufacturing experience would be advantageous.
