An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Test Engineer to join a well-established and growing electronics manufacturing business operating within a global EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) environment. This is a hands-on, shop-floor-based role, where you will be responsible for ensuring product quality and reliability through effective testing and fault diagnosis. You'll work across a range of electronic assemblies, supporting both day-to-day production and new product introduction (NPI), while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Test PCBAs and unit assemblies in line with customer specifications and internal standards
- Perform functional, electrical, and safety testing at board and system level
- Diagnose and repair faults to component, PCB, and unit level
- Use standard test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies
- Accurately record test results, failures, and repairs
- Support production teams with technical queries and test-related issues
- Identify recurring faults and contribute to continuous improvement activities
- Follow all health & safety requirements when handling electrical equipment
About You
- Proven experience in electronics testing within manufacturing, production, or repair environments
- HNC / HND in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Strong understanding of analogue and digital electronics
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs
- Skilled in fault finding and component-level repair
- Experience using standard test equipment
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach
- Able to work to production targets without compromising quality
- Good communication and IT skills (including Microsoft Office)
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-product manufacturing environment
Shift Pattern
Monday to Thursday: 7:00am - 4:00pm
Friday: 7:00am - 12:00pm
