We are seeking an experienced Facilities Engineer to oversee the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of a busy manufacturing site in Swinton. This key role involves managing contractors, maintaining site and building standards, and leading the development of facilities infrastructure to support current and future operations.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, safety-focused, highly organised, and confident managing complex facilities and compliance requirements. Strong communication skills are essential, as the role requires regular collaboration with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion high standards of health & safety, investigate incidents, and drive preventative actions.
- Oversee contractor management and ensure full compliance with site procedures.
- Maintain fire safety equipment and associated services.
- Ensure all facility activities are carried out safely and efficiently, including RAMS completion and adherence.
- Develop and maintain a structured facilities maintenance schedule.
- Lead planned refurbishments, including gathering quotations and preparing budget submissions.
- Work closely with department heads to maintain and improve site facilities aligned with business needs.
- Manage maintenance of site utilities, including power, water, and wastewater systems.
- Collaborate with the Operations Director on investment and improvement projects.
- Take responsibility for facilities-related budgeting, including service charges.
- Ensure the site remains compliant with regulatory and internal requirements.
- Communicate effectively regarding site works, disruption, and cross-department collaboration.
- Build strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners.
- Support the implementation of a combined operations and facilities CMMS system.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience in facilities or site management.
- Experience with NEBOSH/IOSH Health & Safety certification.
- GCSE level education.
- Project management experience.
