Are you a Mechanical Design Engineer who enjoys designing machines, mechanisms and moving systems rather than static structures, piping or process equipment?

We are partnering with a globally recognised engineering manufacturer developing specialist industrial equipment used across critical sectors including energy, marine, infrastructure and heavy industry.

As the business continues to invest in new product development, an opportunity has arisen for a Senior Machine Design Engineer to play a key role in designing the next generation of innovative industrial machinery.

This is a role for someone who thrives on solving complex engineering challenges and enjoys taking products from concept through design, testing and launch.

  • Key Tasks
  • Lead engineering projects from concept through to manufacture and product launch.
  • Design complex electro-mechanical systems and industrial machinery.
  • Develop mechanical assemblies, mechanisms, gear-driven systems, linkages and precision moving components.
  • Produce detailed CAD models and engineering drawings using Solid Works or Inventor.
  • Carry out engineering analysis including FEA, tolerance stack-ups and design verification.
  • Support prototype development, testing and validation activities.
  • Work closely with manufacturing, operations, suppliers and customers to deliver robust, commercially viable solutions.
  • Drive product improvement through DFMEA, root cause analysis and structured NPD processes.

Essential Experience

  • Degree qualified Mechanical Engineer (or equivalent).
  • Strong CAD skills (Solid Works or Inventor preferred).
  • Proven experience leading projects from concept through to delivery.
  • Experience designing mechanical systems, machinery or complex assemblies.
  • Knowledge of FEA, GD&T and tolerance analysis.
  • Experience of DFMEA, root cause analysis and formal product development processes.
  • UK Right to Work.
