We're looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join a growing People team on a 15-month fixed-term contract, providing maternity cover. This is a hands-on generalist HR role where you'll work closely with colleagues and managers across the business, providing practical, commercial and people-focused advice across the employee lifecycle.

You'll support recruitment, employee relations, attendance and wellbeing, organisational change, HR administration, policies and processes, as well as learning and development activity. A key focus will be helping to modernise and improve the People function - bringing structure to existing policies and processes, simplifying how things work and making sure our approach is both compliant and genuinely useful to our people.

About you

  • You'll be an experienced HR Advisor or generalist HR professional, ideally with CIPD Level 5 or a willingness to work towards it.
  • You'll be someone who builds strong relationships and provides excellent customer service.
  • Is confident advising managers and colleagues across a range of HR matters.
  • Enjoys improving processes and finding better ways of working.
  • Can manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Is comfortable with ambiguity and knows when to seek advice.
  • Has strong Microsoft 365 and Excel skills and is confident learning new systems.
  • Understands the value of data and can turn it into useful insight.
  • Communicates clearly and can engage people at all levels.
  • Takes a modern, pragmatic approach to HR rather than simply following "best practice".
  • Is willing to spend time in the operational areas of the business and understand how different teams work.

Manufacturing experience isn't essential - we're looking for someone curious, practical and keen to learn.

What we offer

  • £35,000 salary
  • 15-month fixed-term contract
  • 27 days' annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Additional company Fun Day and Christmas lunch days
  • Flexible start and finish times between 7am and 7pm, subject to operational needs
  • Flexi-hours, with the opportunity to earn an additional day off each month
  • Death in service benefit of 4x salary
  • Employee discounts
  • Free on-site parking

The role requires a minimum of 3 days per week on site. We're happy to consider candidates who would prefer to work fewer than 37.5 hours per week - we're looking for the right person and understand the value of flexible working.

We're committed to equal opportunities and welcome applications from people with different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives. If you need any adjustments during the recruitment process, please let us know.

Interested? To apply, please send your CV to Emma Brighouse at Morgan Ryder Associates.
