Position Overview

The Director of Launch Excellence will play a pivotal leadership role within the firm, responsible for shaping and delivering high-impact launch strategies for pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients. This individual will bring deep expertise in product commercialisation and launch execution, combining strategic thinking with practical, real-world delivery. The role is ideally suited to a senior consultant or industry professional with extensive experience supporting or leading launches across specialty, rare disease, or broader pharma portfolios. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to clients, lead cross-functional engagements, and contribute to the continued growth and thought leadership of the firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of end-to-end launch excellence and commercialisation programmes for pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients
  • Advise senior client stakeholders on launch strategy, launch readiness, and best-practice execution across key markets
  • Develop launch frameworks, tools, and methodologies aligned to client needs and evolving industry standards
  • Support clients across key launch workstreams, including (but not limited to) commercial strategy, cross-functional alignment, governance, and operational readiness
  • Provide hands-on leadership across client engagements, ensuring high-quality delivery and measurable impact
  • Mentor and support junior consultants, contributing to capability development within the firm
  • Contribute to business development activities, including proposal development, client presentations, and thought leadership initiatives
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory considerations, and evolving best practices in pharmaceutical and biotech launches

Candidate Profile

Required:

  • Degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g. Life Sciences, Biomedical Science, Pharmacy, Chemistry, or related field)
  • 8–10+ years of experience within the pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology sectors, gained through consulting and/or industry roles
  • Proven track record in commercialisation and launch excellence, with direct experience supporting product launches
  • Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical product lifecycle and cross-functional launch dynamics
  • Demonstrated ability to engage credibly with senior client stakeholders
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and client-facing consulting environment

Preferred:

  • Prior consulting experience within a strategy, commercial, or life sciences consultancy
  • Experience across specialty, orphan/rare disease, or innovative therapy areas
  • Exposure to UK and/or European market launches
