Clinical Study Physician | Phase 3 | Biotech | Hybrid – London

We are looking for an experienced Clinical Study Physician to join a growing clinical development team and play a key role in the delivery of a global Phase 3 clinical programme.

Hybrid working – a mix of home-based and 3 days office-based working in London

This is a hands-on role for a medically qualified clinical development professional who enjoys being close to the science, the sites and the day-to-day execution of clinical trials. You will combine strategic input with active operational involvement, working closely with CROs, investigators, sites and cross-functional teams to deliver the programme successfully.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on clinical and operational leadership across the Phase 3 programme.
  • Contribute to the Clinical Development Plan and wider programme strategy.
  • Work closely with investigators, KOLs and clinical sites throughout study planning, conduct and reporting.
  • Oversee CROs, vendors, timelines, milestones, budgets and study delivery.
  • Support the development and review of protocols, ICFs, CRFs, monitoring plans and clinical study reports.
  • Identify and manage operational risks, ensuring quality, compliance and delivery against timelines.
  • Partner closely with Clinical Development, Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance, Biostatistics and Data Management.
  • Support inspection readiness, audits and regulatory interactions.
  • Build and mentor clinical operations colleagues and foster a collaborative, high-performance culture.

About you

  • Medical Doctor with 5+ years' clinical development experience within biotech, pharma or CRO environments.
  • Proven experience delivering global clinical trials across multiple phases, ideally including Phase 3.
  • Strong knowledge of ICH-GCP, FDA, EMA and global clinical trial regulations.
  • Experience managing CROs and external vendors.
  • Strong project management, communication and organisational skills.
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on, fast-paced and evolving environment, with the ability to operate both strategically and in the detail.
  • Experience in a biotech/start-up environment and/or rare disease is highly desirable.

This is an opportunity to make a real impact on a late-stage clinical programme while remaining close to the execution and the patient.

If you're a medically qualified clinical development professional who enjoys rolling up your sleeves and getting things done, we'd love to hear from you.
