We’re hiring: Technical Lead (Hybrid | UK (Northeast) | £80–90k + package/ Company car / EV scheme + fuel card & other fringe benefits. One to two days per week in Newcastle - rest home based. Please kindly note - (NO SPONSORSHIP AVAILABLE).

This role would suit a Senior/Lead developer or existing Development Lead who can mentor and coach other senior developers. The core technologies in the team are:

  • .NET - you must be an expert
  • Oracle - preferred skill set
  • SQL - as an alternative to Oracle but both a bonus!

Other key skills and experience needed:

  • GitHub Copilot - a real bonus
  • AI – to aid with efficiency moving forward
  • Cloud technologies (essential)
  • SDLC and strong mentoring experience to lead and oversee three developers and the outsource dev. partner - (essential)
  • Modernisation of platforms and delivery as a whole (essential)

About the role:

As our Technical Lead, you won’t be coding day-to-day — instead, you’ll set the direction. You’ll define engineering standards, guide architecture decisions, and ensure solutions are built right first time — scalable, supportable, and ready for long-term success. Acting as a senior technical authority, you’ll influence delivery across both onshore and offshore teams.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Define and embed engineering standards and best practices
  • Review and assure solution designs, ensuring quality and consistency
  • Drive delivery excellence across platforms and integration layers
  • Act as a senior escalation point for technical challenges
  • Ensure smooth transition from build → live service
  • Collaborate with Product, QA, Security, Ops, and IT Engineering leaders

  • Strong experience with enterprise cloud platforms
  • Deep knowledge of integrations, APIs, messaging, and data sync
  • Proven technical leadership across complex delivery environments
  • Experience improving release quality and service readiness
  • Ability to influence, challenge, and guide senior stakeholders
