Head of Software Engineering (Hands on)
My client is looking for head of software engineering to join their digital product team on a contract basis.
This will suit someone who has experience of building and scaling teams from 0‑1 sitting within a product engineering team.
While the team is being built this person needs to be hands‑on.
Responsibilities
- Build and manage the front‑end, back‑end, integration, and mobile engineering functions.
- Lead the formation of a new engineering team from the ground up.
- Develop clear documentation and communicate effectively across teams.
- Manage third‑party suppliers and external stakeholders.
- Work as a strong senior individual contributor during the team‑building phase.
- Maintain contract details: three‑month day‑rate contract inside IR35 via umbrella, office attendance three days a week in central London; day rate negotiable.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proficiency in Kotlin multi‑platform (KMP), React, Next. js, C#, . NET.
- Experience with Azure Cloud and API/event‑driven patterns.
