We’re looking for a proactive and people-focused HR professional to join our client\’s growing team and deliver high-quality support across a wide range of HR matters, from employee relations to onboarding, engagement, and project delivery. About the Role As HR Advisor, you will play a key role in delivering a proactive and customer-centric HR service. You\’ll provide expert guidance to managers and employees on all aspects of HR policy, employment legislation, and best practice, whilst supporting the implementation of key projects aligned to the wider People Plan. This is a varied and hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys building strong relationships, solving problems, and contributing to continuous improvement in people practices. Key Responsibilities Employee Relations Provide pragmatic HR advice and coaching to managers on complex or sensitive issues including disciplinaries, grievances, performance, sickness, and absence. Ensure case management aligns with policy, legislation, and best practice. Support investigations, formal hearings, and liaison with external bodies such as Occupational Health. Partner with the HR Business Manager on TUPE transfers, restructures, and change programmes. Drive down absence rates by working with managers to effectively manage long- and short-term absence cases. Employee Engagement & Wellbeing Lead on the employee engagement survey process, ensuring actions are taken following feedback. Act as a point of contact for employee wellbeing concerns and support service signposting. Onboarding & Induction Own the design and delivery of a robust and engaging induction programme for new starters. Data & Reporting Produce HR metrics and insights, analysing trends around retention, turnover, and recruitment to support business decisions. Projects & Training Support the HR team in delivering key people projects and initiatives. Provide training to line managers on HR policy, process, and people management best practices. HR Inbox & Operational Support Manage more complex queries that fall outside of administrative support, ensuring consistent and timely responses. About You – Essential Criteria Strong experience in HR advisory roles with practical application of employment law. Skilled in managing employee relations including performance, sickness, and capability. Able to build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels. Experience supporting a multi-skilled or operational workforce. Clear and effective communicator, both written and verbal. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities. Confident in coaching, mentoring, and upskilling managers. Proficient in MS Office tools and comfortable working with HR systems and reporting. Desirable CIPD qualification or equivalent HR qualification. Experience in a similar sector or operational environment. What’s in It for You?
