Morgan Philips are delighted to be exclusively representing a growing HR consultancy in the search for a high‑calibre HR Consultant to join their high‑performing team. This is a fast‑paced, client‑facing role suited to a confident and commercially astute HR professional who can operate with a high degree of autonomy. You will be expected to provide clear, legally sound and pragmatic advice across a wide range of complex employee relations scenarios, acting as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders.
The Role
- Deliver a professional, outsourced HR service to a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple sectors
- Act as a trusted advisor to business owners, directors and senior leaders, influencing decision‑making with commercially grounded HR guidance
- Independently lead and manage complex, high‑risk employee relations cases end‑to‑end, including disciplinaries, grievances, capability, absence, redundancy and TUPE
- Provide clear, confident and legally robust advice, identifying and mitigating employment law risks while balancing commercial outcomes
- Own ER case strategy, including decision‑making around escalation, dismissal risk, and alternative outcomes
- Lead redundancy consultations, including scoping, pooling, selection criteria, and managing challenge from employees
- Navigate sensitive and complex cases involving overlapping risks (e.g. performance, health conditions, discrimination concerns)
- Prepare high‑quality documentation including outcome letters, policies, contracts and case reports to a consistently strong standard
- Embed yourself within client organisations where required, building credibility and long‑term relationships
- Support wider HR activity including performance management, organisational change, talent and engagement initiatives
- Contribute to business development activity, proposals and client presentations
- Deliver training to clients on ER, employment law updates and best practice
About You
- Proven HR generalist experience within a consultancy or highly client‑facing HRBP environment
- Demonstrable track record of independently managing complex and high‑risk ER casework, with clear ownership of outcomes
- Strong and up‑to‑date knowledge of UK employment law, with the confidence to apply this in practice and articulate risk clearly
- Able to provide legally sound, commercially pragmatic advice without over‑reliance on escalation
- Experience leading redundancy programmes and consultations, with a clear understanding of your personal remit and decision‑making responsibility
- Comfortable managing a varied caseload, including multiple concurrent ER matters of varying complexity
- Strong judgement and the ability to navigate ambiguity, particularly in sensitive or high‑risk scenarios
- Confident communicator, able to challenge and influence stakeholders and manage pushback effectively
- Highly organised, resilient, and adaptable in a fast‑paced, multi‑client environment
- Fully CIPD Level 5 qualified (or equivalent)
