A long-established U.S. manufacturer specialising in industrial cable and hose management systems. Renowned for being ahead of the curve, they have developed a number of retractable cable reel systems for commercial fleets (e.g. buses, trucks & depots) designed to:
- Keep charging cables off the ground (improving safety)
- Reduce wear and maintenance costs
- Support high-power Level 2 and Level 3 charging
The Territory Sales Manager – EV & Transport primary responsibility will be to provide sales and support to end-users, distributors, consultants, OEMs and contractors/systems integrators for their EV product line.
Key responsibilities include:
- Identify project opportunities and generate demand for their end-to-end solutions across the territory, assigned accounts and vertical markets.
- Work closely with external sales representatives and product managers to successfully close sales opportunities negotiations.
- Effectively manage assigned territory in all aspects of customer engagement, driving demand, sales, special pricing agreements, customer service, management, forecasting/reporting.
- Engage with end-users, distribution, and external sales representatives to position and specify the brand’s portfolio of EV cable management solutions.
- Conduct training and sales presentations (virtual and in-person) and support end users, systems integrators, and distributors within the assigned territory to sustain and develop their knowledge of our products.
- Maintain and develop new markets for the HI brands via direct sales, distribution, systems integrators, and OEMs.
- Collaborate closely with the Director of Sales to successfully implement a sales strategy for the assigned region.
- Work with the Project Management team to ensure complete customer satisfaction within the assigned territory.
- Research and communicate market intelligence and strategies in the assigned territory.
- Maintain current accounts and opportunities tracking in Salesforce.com.
- Attend industry trade shows and business-oriented social functions as required.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Achieve sales/profit targets in the assigned territory, vertical market, and strategic accounts.
- Effectively manage and collaborate with the external regional sales team.
- Emphasis on specification work and new product development (NPD) sales.
- Monthly forecast and Salesforce management.
- Strengthen business relationships within the current customer base by networking across all levels of buying influence to drive account revenue growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (Business, Engineering) from a four-year college or technical college or equivalent experience within this role.
- 5+ years’ experience in a Sales Management role.
- Strong written and verbal business communications skills, with excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Demonstrate leadership qualities through outstanding work ethics with a strong record of managing complex sales relationships in a technical environment.
- Strong proficiency in Salesforce, MS Office Suite, Teams and Power BI, and other PC applications.
- Ability to resolve problems and meet deadlines. Works well in groups as well as independently to solve challenges. Applies reasoning and data analytics even when dealing with emotional topics.
- Ability to travel up to 60% or as required.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in their target key vertical market - EV, Transportation.
- Knowledge of cable management solutions/Fleet services.
- Experience (two or more) in Heavy Industry manufacturing, transportation, renewable energy infrastructure, oil & gas, aerospace, or automotive market segments.
- Experience managing multi-year supply and service contracts.
- Project Management: Develops regional sales project plans, communicates changes and progress; completes projects on time and manages activities.
