Morgan Philips is retained by a fast growing and dynamic biotech who will be launching a new product in the cardiology/lipidemia therapeutic area. The firm, which is around 100 people in the UK affiliate, is growing very quickly across Europe and launching new products across a range of existing and new therapeutic areas.
The Business Unit Director (BUD) will be the first hire in this new area; working closely with the GM and senior leadership team. The BUD is responsible for establishing, building, and leading the Business Unit for the launch and lifecycle management of the new product. The role requires exemplary cross-functional leadership, deep stakeholder engagement, and an ability to operate strategically and operationally in a dynamic environment.
The BUD will have full P&L management for the unit and be responsible for building and executing strategy for both pre and post launch. They will build the team, leading sales and marketing performance across the brand and positioning the firm as a market leader in the space.
KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- University degree in science, medicine, or business
- Therapy experience in cardiology, cardiomyopathy, cardiorenal, heart failure, lipidemia or similar.
- Proven commercial leadership in pharmaceuticals with successful product launches in the therapeutic area.
- Demonstrated success in sales/marketing leadership roles
- Strong understanding of country healthcare and market access systems
The role is a hybrid role, requiring a minimum of 1 day a week on site as well as regular field-based travel as appropriate.
