Morgan Philips Executive Search have been retained by a global specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructures and connected solutions who seek a General Manager for a subsidiary business based in Bedford. This business is a specialist in cooling and energy efficiency for data centers and was acquired by the group 3 years ago. Currently, the business is about to embark on a significant growth programme with launches into the US and India planned for 2026 and 2027.
The role of General Manager requires someone with a strong focus on strategy and commercial growth who can both define and execute a plan. The successful candidate will have:
- Significant experience in the delivery of data centers - this is non-negotiable!
- A strong operational management background, with experience owning multi million-pound PnL's (£100m+)
- Demonstrable experience of growing and expanding businesses, with a focus on driving clear strategy
- A hands-on approach to leadership; wanting to lead from the front whilst still empowering and developing your SLT.
The role is based in Bedford and will require a full time presence on site. There will likely be occasional international travel, particularly around the planned new plant openings in the coming years.
