Morgan Philips have been retained by a biotech and rare diseases specialist, who are seeking to hire a Senior Director in a new role to help drive an aligned approach to the commercial medical strategy across Europe. Working with a small team of direct reports, you will be responsible for creating and executing the medical strategy across all European entities; bringing consistency, efficiency and commercial success. You will be required to build strong relationships with key stakeholders in the affiliates and support execution of the plan. Focus will include the commercial strategy, ensuring field staff are well educated and prepared to engage with clinicians and KOLs and a large responsibility in product launches.
The firm, which is small to medium size, but growing very quickly, has a dynamic culture and agile mindset and requires leaders able to drive flexible operations and delivery at pace.
Candidates should have:
- Experience working in a medical function within rare diseases - either in medical affairs or as a Medical Director;
- Experience working in commercial or operational roles within rare diseases;
- Significant exposure to developing, operationalising and executing strategy;
- Strong project management skills;
- Significant track record in product launch in rare diseases;
- Experience working in both local and Global functions in pharma;
- Experience in management consultancy would be a nice to have.
The role will predominantly be based remotely, with some travel to the UK offices and around 40% travelling across Europe according to key projects and strategic initiatives.
